OUR STORY

Haven Ministry serves a diverse group of individuals and families who are causght in the web of poverty. Clients are diverse in gender, age, race and circumstances in life. Haven can provide a respite from homelessness and allow them to find ways to escape the cycle of poverty.

The goal is not only to provide emergency shelter and food but to seek ways to change the situation for themselves and their family. Haven strives to provide information and skills to accomplish self sufficiency.

Clients are expected to live in harmony with each other. They are also expected to participate in the activities provided and complete daily chores as they would when living independently. The staff at Haven truly cares about the well being of our clients. We strive to be as helpful as possible, through providing informational classes such as budgeting, how to do well in a job interview and many more. The staff devotes their personal time to the clients and helping them along their journey of job search.

Haven Ministry colaborates with other agencies both private and public to assist clients to become self sufficient and progress to independent housing.

Referrals are made to agencies after evaluating the clients' needs, skills and circumstances. Eligible clients are required to participate in job searching and training. They are expected to keep appointments for counseling and employment.

We encourage the learning of valuable life-skills, work ethics and morals to become a contributing member of their community.

Evaluations of progress to obtain independent living are completed on a regular basis. The outcomes sought by our mission are self-motivation, reliable income and financial management skills. The measurment of this outcome is a stable home situation for the client or family.
